What you'll do

  • Our curriculum is interactive and practical, focusing on developing your technical skills as well as your core knowledge
  • You will have access to specialist facilities like our bioveterinary anatomy space, which includes our virtual dissection Anatomage tables
  • You will learn through a range of innovative methods including practical sessions, handling animal species, working in real laboratories, and conducting field work off-site

Next steps after your foundation bioveterinary sciences degree

This course will prepare you for further study in veterinary and life sciences at honours level. You could progress onto our BSc (Hons) Bioveterinary Sciences course and gain a full honours degree in just two years.

We will consider your educational achievements, predicted grades, work experience and personal statement. If you don't meet the grades for your chosen course, we will consider you for other programmes.

Our BSc (Hons) Bioveterinary Sciences foundation year programme offers a great potential entry route to our standard Bioveterinary Sciences programme. You'll start at Year 0, where you'll get the chance to develop and demonstrate the necessary subject-specific knowledge and abilities to participate in the progression process. As the course is highly competitive, to progress to Year One, you’ll need to meet the specific grade criteria at Year 0.

Despite this, widening participation is at the core of our school's mission. We can offer a reduced entry tariff for those who's life experiences may have resulted in academic challenges. See our Contextual Admissions page for more details.

  • BTEC Extended Diploma: MMP
  • BTEC Diploma: DM
  • Pass Access Course: 80 UCAS points
  • T Level: P (C+)
  • IELTS: 6.0 with no component lower than 5.5
  • Evidence of sustained academic achievement with broad study of Science and Maths up to 16
  • GCSEs: 5 at grade C/4 including Maths & English Language or equivalent
