What you'll do

  • Examine sports from socio-cultural and historical perspectives, along with the study of physical education, health and fitness.
  • You’ll also have the chance to study optional modules in sports management, coaching and development, and learn about major sporting issues and physical education in the UK and beyond.
  • The Sports Coaching and Development degree incorporates completing a range of recognised coaching qualifications as part of your degree.

With a practical focus on professional skills, our BA (Hons) Sports Coaching and Development degree programme is designed to help you prepare for a career at the front line of sport, from personal training to football coaching

Entry requirements

We will consider your educational achievements, predicted grades, work experience and personal statement. If you don't meet the grades for your chosen course, we will consider you for other programmes.

  • BTEC Diploma: D*D – D*D*
  • Pass Access Course: 104-112 UCAS Points
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma: Pass including 104-112 points from Higher Level Subjects
  • T Level: M
  • IELTS: 6.0 with no component lower than 5.5
  • GCSEs: 5 at grade C/4 including Maths and English or equivalent

This course will involve you working with vulnerable groups of individuals, this may include children. In order to ensure that the University offers places on their programmes to suitable candidates you will be required to obtain a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance (formerly termed CRB).
