What you'll do

  • Question, critique and develop your knowledge, competency, and ability to coach in all areas of strength development, and enhancement of conditioning.
  • The course will allow you to dispel many of the traditions and incorrect training theory and methodological approaches to training and coaching and as a result will enable you to develop a sound approach to the content of your coaching and behaviour as a coach.
  • The course is progressive in nature, with all modules being bespoke and cumulative so that that graduating Strength and Conditioning Coaches will be well equipped to perform at a high level in a range of sports spanning power-based, team-based, combat, and endurance sports.

Accreditations

Football Medicine and Performance Association (FMPA).

We’re just one of two universities that currently partners the FMPA. This partnership gives you direct links to the football industry and provides opportunities for you to access current practice in football and potential career prospects.

Future careers

Our Strength and Conditioning graduates work as self-employed coaches in a large variety of team-sports, combat sports, strength-based sports, and endurance sports. Many also work within clubs, teams, and organisations, and deliver Strength and Conditioning support to a large range of audiences such as school PE lessons, recreational, semi-professional and professional athletes, and special population groups. A large number of our graduates have secured careers, promotions or new business opportunities as a result of taking the MSc in Strength and Conditioning.

Entry requirements

  • Applicants should hold a 2:2 degree or equivalent professional experience or learning in a related field such as sports science or strength and conditioning
  • Applications from all candidates will be considered on their merits in the light of the nature and scope of the programme and if they have experience in the sports industry
  • A detailed admissions procedure will be forwarded on application
