What you'll do
- Undertake simulations in purpose-built clinical assessment facilities using “real life” clinical scenarios which reflect the everyday working of a dietitian
- Learn from registered dietitians and health professionals and undertake supervised placement learning in the NHS and local organisations
- Engage with students across other Allied Health Profession (AHP) courses within the University, offering inter-professional learning opportunities from day one

Future Careers in Dietetics
Dietitians are locally in demand and there are many exciting opportunities. Our graduates can pursue careers to make a difference in the NHS, private health, industry, research, food service, public health, universities, and other settings.
Entry requirements
Applicants will also be assessed through their personal statement and a values-based recruitment event including an interview.
International qualifications
We may accept qualification gained in other countries. Enquiries of eligibility, including certified translations into English of qualifications, can be sent to the International Team.
- 2:2 first degree or above which includes biochemistry and human physiology to level 5 or equivalent, as well as research skills and methodology
- English and Mathematics GCSEs at grade C/grade 4 for above (or equivalent) non-standard entry applicants will be considered on their merits
- For applicants where English is not their first language, we require an IELTS examination score of at least 7.0 with no element below 6.5
- Applicants must supply a full transcript and two academic references at the point of application. Evidence of Maths and English GCSEs will also be required.
- A satisfactory Criminal records declaration (DBS/Disclosure Scotland) and Occupational Health clearance are required for this course.
This course will involve you working with vulnerable groups of individuals, this may include children. In order to ensure that the University offers places on their programmes to suitable candidates you will be required to obtain a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance (formerly termed CRB).
All offers of a place on this course are subject to satisfactory health screening. It is important to note that should your health screening not be satisfactory your offer of a place on this course may be withdrawn.
If you have already enrolled on the course prior to completion of your health screening, or if your health screening clearance is revoked or changes during the course, you may be required to withdraw from the course even if you have already started.
