Rachael Strang
Rachael recently joined our academic team, having worked locally as an NHS dietitian since qualifying in 2005. She is currently teaching on our MSc (Pre-registration) Dietetics course alongside supporting students on practice placements and with their research projects.
MSc (Pre-registration) Dietetics
Rachael combines her academic role with a clinical post as a Specialist Paediatric Dietitian at a local acute NHS Trust. Here she has specialised in the use of ketogenic diets as treatment of childhood epilepsy, in addition to providing dietetic therapy to children with a range of other clinical conditions such as allergies, coeliac disease, faltering growth, obesity and restrictive food intake. She also advises on the use of enteral feeding tubes for children requiring artificial nutrition support.
Her previous dietetic experience has included working with adults with gastrointestinal and liver conditions, post surgery, in critical care, neurosurgical and neurology units. She has been actively involved in training student dietitians throughout her career.
