Education with Humanities

This module aims to provide you with education studies knowledge, and skills. You'll get an overview of debates and issues surrounding learners in the education system, and to equip you with knowledge of both historical and current policy and practice.

You’ll develop study skills for higher education. This includes using the library, critical reading, analysis of sources, and preparing written and oral work. You’ll learn about the style differences between between academic writing, creative writing, reflective writing, and the language of the workplace. You'll also learn about conventions for essay writing and referencing.

This module introduces Korean grammar, vocabulary, and basic communication skills for beginners, with equal focus on speaking, listening, reading, and writing. It also provides self-study skills for ongoing language learning and cultural competence.

This module aims to familiarise you with the debated aspects of diversity and inclusion, and analyse educational opportunities for learners with SEND. You'll also learn about other dimensions of inequality, and assess the effectiveness of government policies and school strategies on the education of learners with SEND.

This module enhances your academic writing, critical thinking, and research abilities, focusing on skills like critical analysis, evidence synthesis, proper source utilization, and theory application. Successful completion is required if you're planning to take the research-based dissertation module.

This module aims to build on your first-year language skills, helping you achieve competence in Korean communication across various contexts. You'll enhance your awareness of Korean culture, and develop as an independent learner and language user.

On this module you'll learn the structure and diversity of the Korean language and society and critically examine socio-linguistic and socio-cultural aspects of Korea. You'll also enhance your analysis and research skills in these areas, and develop your overall academic research skills.

The module will provide you with the opportunity to undertake an extended, independent study of a significant topic relating to your named qualification subject area.

This module aims to provide insight into the modern socio-political history of contemporary Korea. You'll assess its social, political, and cultural aspects, and critically examine Korean society and culture in both national and global contexts.
