Every year, numerous students from our partner institutions decide to top up their qualifications to an undergraduate level or pursue postgraduate studies with us. You could be one of them.

Familiarity
The awarding body and assessment regulations are the same both here and at our partner institutions. You might also know the staff on your top-up course.
Confidence
You'll feel more confident studying at our Preston or Burnley Campus due to the preparation you get from your partner institution.
Experience
If you choose to study at our Preston Campus, you'll get the full university experience. You'll have great facilities available at your fingertips.
Flexibility
You can study many of our courses part-time. This means you can balance your studies alongside your other responsibilities or commitments.

How to apply

Automatic offers

Students enrolled in programs without a direct top-up route at the Partner institution will receive an automatic offer to advance their qualification to the undergraduate level with us. This offer will be sent around December via email or post, depending on your communication preferences, and will propose the most relevant top-up course related to your field of study. However, if you prefer a different course, this can easily be changed.

For certain courses there are direct offer routes available. If this is applicable you will receive notification from us.

A small number of courses require a UCAS application. In these rare cases, please visit the UCAS website.

Our award holders studying a postgraduate taught course or postgraduate research degree (full or part-time) may be eligible for a 20% tuition fee discount if paying a standard or higher tuition fee. Please note that this discount is for postgraduate courses run at UCLan Campuses. This excludes courses run at our Partner Colleges/Institutions. Please note that some top up routes may be subject to conditions, such as a minimum mark on your current course. Please see the programme specification or speak to your tutor for further information. Courses listed in the top up guide may run full-time, part-time or both. Please check with the relevant course page or partner intuition for the mode of study.

Some top up options will need an audition, interview, or portfolio. Some courses might also be subject to GCSE requirements, requirements from regulatory bodies, occupational health check and DBS check. If you are progressing to a partner institution it is vital you check their website for any specific requirements.
