As we increase our use of communication technology and information-based applications, we need to respond to more threats from illegal or unwanted activities. Our MSc in Cyber Security will develop your computing skills in the theory and practice of computer security.

What you'll do
- On this course you’ll learn about the tools and procedures used to identify computer security weaknesses to help prevent the loss of sensitive computer data.
- You’ll develop the necessary skills to become a cyber security problem-solver to meet the growing demand for specialists in this area.
- You’ll develop transferable skills in evaluation of ideas and concepts, effective communication, synthesis of ideas and become a reflective practitioner.

Entry requirements
- Applicants should have one of the following
- 2:2 Honours Degree or above in a Computing or closely-related discipline
- Degree and substantial relevant industrial experience
- BCS Postgraduate Diploma plus PGD project
- Qualifications deemed by the University to be equivalent to the above
- Students will be expected to display communication skills appropriate to an Honours graduate. In particular, students whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate competence in the language. The normal minimum standard required is IELTS 6.0 with no individual component below 5.5 or equivalent.
