What you'll do

  • Design projects are used to bring all aspects of civil engineering together. You’ll assess real-life scenarios from road junctions and bridges, to reservoirs and water supply systems.
  • Site visits and field trips help you to see how civil engineering projects develop and progress, and gain experience of live projects.
  • We'll help you find an optional professional placement, extending your study time by 6 to 12 months to give you hands-on experience in civil engineering.

Future careers

Our Civil Engineering MSc equips you with an advanced understanding of civil engineering knowledge. This enables you to either advance your career within civil engineering or progress on to further study.  

Entry requirements

  • Technical Honours Degree in Civil Engineering at 2:1 or above. Grade 2:2 is considered if there is evidence of a good mathematical background and/or relevant industrial/ engineering experience
  • IELTS: 6.0 with no individual component lower than 5.5.
