Sport volunteering for everyone

Volunteering in sport is open to everyone, not just those from a sports background. Various sports clubs and events need help with everything from organising to officiating, as well as taking part. Talk to us at the CVCL and we'll find the right post for you.

Volunteer at the university

There are lots of sport volunteering opportunities within the university. The Student Union League regularly organise and host matches across a range of sports. Volunteers help make this happen.

The university also hold Wellbeing Wednesdays, where different activities pop-up across the campus. This can include led walks and cycle training. You can volunteer to support these activities.

Volunteer at other sports clubs

You can also volunteer at sports clubs outside the university. UCLan has links to Preston Sports Forum which is the voice of over 100 sports clubs in Preston. Many of those clubs will be looking for volunteers.

One club with whom the university has strong links is the Sir Tom Finney Soccer Centre. Many students sign up to the Soccer Centre where they gain experience working with refugees, asylum seekers and hard to reach communities from across Preston.
