What you'll do
- You'll make your choice of Home Trust from the following four providers; Blackpool Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, East Lancashire Hospital NHS Trust (Blackburn and Burnley), University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust or Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Preston).
- You'll spend your time in practice, learning alongside qualified practitioners. You'll spend one to two days a week being taught theory by Lancashire Teaching Hospital academics using a hybrid model of either face-to-face learning on campus at Preston College or via online learning.
- An average week will consist of a mix of theory and practice, ensuring you are always prepared and confident to take your skills out of the classroom into real-life practice.

The BSc (Hons) Nursing with Registered Nurse (Adult) Practice-Based Pathway will prepare you for a career as a registered nurse at your chosen local healthcare provider. During your course you'll build relationships with existing practitioners and students on your course, preparing you for a rewarding and successful career as an Adult Nurse in your local community.

We will consider your educational achievements, predicted grades, work experience and personal statement. If you don't meet the grades for your chosen course, we will consider you for other programmes.

Nursing is open to all those who want to care for others. Your age, experience and qualifications should not be a barrier to a career in care.
We have foundation year options and a Return to Study course intended to prepare you for a career in nursing, even if you don’t have the standard qualifications.
Please also note if your application is deemed unsuccessful subsequent applications submitted within the same UCAS cycle will not be considered.

- BTEC Extended Diploma: DMM
- BTEC Diploma: D*D
- Pass Access Course: 104 UCAS points
- International Baccalaureate Diploma: Pass including 104 points from Higher Level Subjects
- T Level: M
- IELTS: 6.0 with no Component lower than 5.5
- GCSEs: 5 at grade C/4 including Maths and English or equivalent
- Applicants are required to attend a selection day when they will be interviewed for the course
This course will involve you working with vulnerable groups of individuals, this may include children. In order to ensure that the University offers places on their programmes to suitable candidates you will be required to obtain a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance (formerly termed CRB).
All offers of a place on this course are subject to satisfactory health screening. It is important to note that should your health screening not be satisfactory your offer of a place on this course may be withdrawn.
If you have already enrolled on the course prior to completion of your health screening, or if your health screening clearance is revoked or changes during the course, you may be required to withdraw from the course even if you have already started.
