Overview
The JILeaders Programme equips forward-thinking media professionals to successfully lead teams, projects, and organisations in an increasingly complex and competitive media landscape. Successful leaders will be expected to undertake a 30-week part-time, online learning programme: MA/PGCert Journalism Innovation & Leadership and complete the applied learning projects for two modules that comprise the Postgraduate Certificate. Participants meet online once a week and join three one-week Intensive Study Blocks online and in-person in Feb, May and October 2024.
Successful applicants will have their full tuition fee paid for.

You will be directed to complete an application form that will include a request to provide:
- A 250-word statement that describes your daily duties, the relevance of the programme to your career, your goals for the course, and how you will apply the learning in context
- Confirmation of your undergraduate degree in journalism or a related media subject at least 2:1 or evidence of professional journalism or media industry experience (normally five years)
- IELTS: score of 7 or equivalent
- Applicants will also be interviewed either in person or via electronic means
- GCSEs: Maths and English at Grade C/4 or equivalent such as Level 2 functional skills in Maths and English
Closing date for receipt of applications: 30th September 2023
Interviews date: TBC (October-November 2023)
Course start date: January 2024

- Applications should have a strong interest in the challenges facing journalism and its leaders and have an undergraduate degree in journalism or a related media subject at least 2:1 or evidence of professional journalism, or media industry experience (normally five years)

Overview
Successful applicants will be highly motivated leaders eager to innovate, grow their confidence, their networks and career prospects. The JILeaders Programme equip forward-thinking media professionals to successfully lead teams, projects and organisations in an increasingly complex and competitive media landscape.
If you're successful, you'll be expected to undertake a flexible online learning 30-week plan, meeting once a week. You'll complete two modules (JN4530 and JN4531) for the postgraduate certificate in Journalism Innovation and Leadership. You'll also have the opportunity to meet in-person or online for study blocks in May and October 2025.
