The School of Dentistry is seeking to appoint a Senior Clinical Teacher to join its clinical academic team. Working predominantly with undergraduate students, you will take responsibility for academic teaching, module leadership and for the provision of chairside clinical supervision and training. In addition, you will take specific responsibility for ensuring continuity of either primary care teaching or secondary care placements and will also have opportunities to become involved in postgraduate teaching. The School is based firmly within Primary Care and we run integrated BDS / Dental Therapy (DT) programmes, along with a range of other clinical and non-clinical programmes at all levels across the dental team. Our undergraduate BDS/DT students are located in one of four Dental Education Centres from the second year of their degree programmes. This post is based at the Accrington Dental Education Centre, although there will be some regional travel to the main Preston campus and the other Dental Education Centres in Carlisle, Blackpool and Morecambe. 

The successful candidate will have comprehensive long-term experience of primary care dentistry in a General Dental Practice, a Primary Care Clinic, a University or a Hospital environment, along with some experience of teaching within dental setting. 

Applicants must have full current registration with the General Dental Council. A BDS and a formal teaching qualification or being willing to undertake one within two years of appointment is desirable.

A team player, you will have the ability to explain and demonstrate practical skills, be IT literate in the in the use of standard Microsoft packages and will also demonstrate excellent communication skills. We require a commitment both to inter-professional education and to personal and professional development
