About Us
We are one of the biggest providers of pre-registration nursing education in the north-west and have students studying nursing in all four fields of nursing across three campuses (Preston, Burnley and Westlakes). Within the school we also offer a range of other undergraduate provision including nursing associate, midwifery, assistant practitioner and health and social care. Alongside this we have a growing range of post-graduate provision, both as full programmes and stand along CPD module. The team within the school is welcoming and fully committed to the changing the lives of the students who choose us to start or further their healthcare career. About the role
As a Lecturer in Nursing you will work in a thriving team of talented and nurturing healthcare academics who are delivering excellent educational experiences to our students. We will challenge you to think creatively and encourage you to engage in the development of healthcare education both locally within our own provision and more widely. You will be fully supported as a new or developing academic through clear line management and mentorship from a more established member of the team. You will have the opportunity to undertake a recognised teaching qualification as well as taking on a range of other academic roles.
About you
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer in Nursing with a focus on Nursing within the Learning Disabilities Nursing field of practice. As a registered Nurse (LD) you will deliver high-quality learning experiences to students on a range of programmes within the school. An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject is essential, as well as an understanding and knowledge of contemporary Nursing with the context of UK practice, underpinned by clinical experience within Learning Disability Nursing. You will be passionate about student success and committed to engaging our learners in their lifelong learning journey of becoming a future healthcare professional. As a skilled and adaptable professional you will possess the aptitude to take on a range of academic roles including, teaching, research, personal tutoring, assessment and module leadership. To achieve all of this you will have a willingness to engage in your own personal and professional development and passion for taking on new challenges.
