Job details

The School of Medicine and Dentistry wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Medical Sciences to contribute to course management, delivery and the ongoing development of the two-year accelerated BSc (Hons) Medical Sciences programme, which is delivered at our Burnley Campus. The University of Central Lancashire has an excellent reputation for the delivery of health-based courses and has expanded this provision within the School of Medicine and Dentistry at Burnley.

The postholder will focus primarily on this accelerated 2-year course. They will be expected to deliver teaching and assessment in several areas (clinical and/or fundamental) from Anatomy/Physiology/Pharmacology and Therapeutics. The successful candidate will contribute to dissertation project supervision, as required on this programme and contribute towards student recruitment through relevant activities. We also are looking to develop new programmes from this facility at UG and PG level and would welcome interest in course development.

The successful candidate must have teaching experience within a healthcare subject related to Medical Sciences, and a higher degree.

Informal enquiries are welcomed: please contact Nigel Garratt, Associate Dean – njgarratt@uclan.ac.uk or Chris Smith, Principal Lecturer & Academic Lead for Medical Sciences – csmith@uclan.ac.uk
