Information for students from Guyana

GCE A levels may be taken and standard entry requirements should be used.

OR

Community College Diploma or Associate Degree with a Pass.

OR

Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) Six Caribbean Examination Council, Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE) at Grade V (5) or above.

They may be 6 individual units, 3 double units or a combination.

Subjects required for entry should be taken as a double unit.

(The CAPE Diploma is awarded for the successful completion of at least six CAPE units, within a five-year period. CXC Associate Degree is awarded for the successful completion of at least eight CAPE units within a five-year period. Before 2016, seven CAPE units were required to get the CXC Associate Degree).

Below are the criteria for the award of the Excellence scholarships, further information of which can be found on your country page.

Masters (UK 2:2)

Successful completion of 3-year bachelor’s degree from the University of the West Indies (Barbados, Jamaica or Trinidad Tobago campuses), University of Guyana, National University of Technology or any degree that is accredited by Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago or the University Council of Jamaica or awarded by the Council of Community Colleges of Jamaica with 2:2 or GPA 2.5.

OR

Master’s Degree from the University of Guyana with 3 out of 4 or 55%

Masters (UK 2:1)
