This session will provide you with information that enables you to recognise hate incidents and crimes and understand the impact these incidents can have on people, their families and communities in which they study, live or work.

The session will cover important cases, especially in ethnic and faith communities, and provide details on current laws, data, and reporting methods. It will also explain how to report hate crimes and support students, staff, and visitors who may have witnessed or experienced such incidents.

The session will cover:

  • Racism, islamophobia and anti-semitism hate crimes and incidents.
  • Looking at ways we can work together to deliver effective outcomes for people subjected to hostility because of their personal identities, culture and faith.
  • Exploring how we could be active allies and exercise our civic role in this scenario.
  • Sharing testimonials and lived experiences of survivors
