Architectural Technology Apprentice will support the Digital Information Management team, working closely with the business and IT team to provide training, assistance, and support on all aspects of IT and Digital applications. The role will also involve input and support to the bid and construction teams in meeting ISO19650 Information Management standards as required. 

The role will require some travel to regional offices and sites in order to provide a service to projects across the UK. Flexibility is also required as some work may have to be outside office hours. The Architectural Technology Apprentice will support the Digital Information Management Team in the areas listed below.

Full support by the Digital Information Management Team will be provided in these duties.

Information Management

  • Support the Digital Information Management team in production, management and compliance of Information Management Policy and strategy in line with ISO19650 requirements
  • Support the use Specialist Digital Information Management software to support project delivery
  • Support on all aspects of project Information Management delivery as set out in GRAHAM Information Management Processes and IMS as required
  • Support in the identification of appropriate hardware and software for use to deliver construction projects meeting Information Management client requirements in line with ISO19650 standards
  • Support the team in providing advice and material for GRAHAM construction bids in relation to Information Management
  • Support the identification of project risks in terms of Information Management delivery against ISO19650 standards• Support the team in identification of benefits and lessons learned for every Information Management project that is completed and put in place continuous improvement

Digital Construction

  • Support the team in the identification of new software and solutions relevant to the GRAHAM Digital Information Management
  • Support the team in the role of providing advice and material for GRAHAM construction bids in relation to Digital Information Management
  • Support the team in management and review of the software application portfolio, identifying potential new software and solutions required for both delivery teams on site and back office teams for Digital Information Management
  • Understand solutions lifecycle, and exploit standard solutions throughout the GRAHAM business, identify solutions that are not providing value and be part of the team to retire these solutions
  • Support identification of benefits and lessons learned in terms of Digital Information for every project completed and proactively seek to improve
  • Support Digital Information KPI targets are agreed and met

User Support

  • Take ownership for all business function requests within Digital Information Management team and their support within the IT function
  • Manage and own case/issues log with 3rd party vendors as required
  • Escalate Service Level Agreement issues/non-deliverables to line manager

Training & Documentation

  • Support Digital Information Management training strategic and tactical plans
  • Support the developed, deployment and maintenance of training materials for key Digital Information solutions within remit
  • Identify, prepare and deliver training needs within remit
  • Support the preparation of business process and end-user documentation, advise of updates in areas of responsibility
  • Proactively ensure all IT documentation for change requests, projects and processes are prepared & validated in a timely manner/in accordance with initiative delivery plan

This job description is intended to give the apprentice an appreciation of the role of the Architectural Technology Apprentice. The apprentice will be supporting these responsibilities, and will be given full support by the Digital Information Team.

It does not attempt to detail every activity. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals.

Considerations

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Flexibility is also required as some work may have to be outside office hours.
