What you'll do

  • Develop a thorough understanding of your profession and the wider built environment and be ready to progress to become a Chartered Architectural Technologist.
  • There is a strong focus on developing your individual employability and lifelong learning skills. You will be ready to apply them to your professional role of Architectural Technology as define by the CIAT.
  • Learn to work with other professionals in the built environment who are involved with the design, construction and operation of buildings.

Entry requirements

  • Our typical offer is 96 UCAS Points
  • BTEC Extended Diploma: Merit, Merit, Merit
  • BTEC Diploma: Distinction, Distinction
  • Pass Access Course: 96 UCAS Points
  • International Baccalaureate: Pass Diploma with 96 UCAS points from Higher Level Subjects
  • GCSE: 5 at grade C/4 including Maths & English or equivalent
  • We operate a flexible admissions policy and treat everyone as an individual. This means that we will take into consideration your educational achievements and predicted grades (where applicable) together with your application, including work experience and personal statement
  • Equivalent qualifications are welcome including UCLan’s foundation courses
  • Applicants who do not satisfy the standard minimum entry requirements can be admitted, subject to interview, on the basis of equivalent prior experience or learning
  • Applications will be considered for advanced entry to Level 5 (Year 2 full-time and Year 3 part-time in the UK) where students have completed an HNC/D or Foundation Degree in Construction or similar
  • Exceptionally, candidates who do not satisfy the requirement of the above may be admitted to the programme at the discretion of the School of Engineering, subject to interview and assessment of commitment. Applicants may be invited to attend an interview to determine their ability, experience, commitment and potential to benefit from the course of study

Information for employers

An apprentice is employed to do a real job while studying for a formal qualification, usually for one day a week at one of our campuses or training centres.

This course meets Apprenticeship Standards and your apprentice will have the knowledge and skills to either succeed in their chosen career or progress to the next apprenticeship level.
