Job summary

This apprenticeship role is to provide support to our busy Commercial Team whilst allowing the candidate to gain qualifications, experience and to develop their commercial skills to become a Quantity Surveyor. Initially providing support to our existing team, the apprentice will be able to take more responsibility for their own work.

Full job description

The role includes the following responsibilities: 

  • Support the Commercial Team in the management of individual accounts for a variety of clients.
  • Liaise with clients to identify their needs and determine client requirements during the tender process.
  • Preparing tender and contract documents.
  • Supporting the team to identify, assess and advise on commercial risk.
  • Preparing subcontractors documentation.
  • Estimating quantities, costs and time scales for material and labour.
  • Preparing and submitting quotations.
  • Liaising with the operational team to determine works completed within period and processing this information to submit applications/invoices.
  • Supporting monthly billing of scheme account(s) are carried out in line with set deadlines.
  • Implementing the Early Warning /Compensation Event procedure in line with contractual obligations to capture costs incurred with additional works.

  • Enthusiasm and passion to ensure that all Crown Highways work is delivered in a manner without compromise on safety, quality or customer service.
  • Understanding of of the importance of meeting client and customer requirements.
