Who is this course for?
The course is for learners who have and interest in becoming a Registered Occupational Therapist. An Occupational Therapist works with people of all ages, looking at all aspects of their daily life (home, workplace, school). Occupational Therapists treat and manage a wide variety of conditions and needs.

Future careers
Once you have completed your degree apprenticeship, most students take up a role as a registered Occupational Therapist at their employing organisation.
You will also be able to apply for roles in a variety of settings. These include hospitals, GP practices, residential homes, social services, charities, schools and prisons. You can progress within the profession to work in specialist, advanced and leadership roles.
Entry requirements
Tuition Fees are paid by an Apprenticeship Levy, so it’s free to you, although you won’t qualify for any funding from Student Finance.
Applicants who do not fit the typical entry requirements will be considered on an individual basis. In this situation, evidence of study within the last 3 years to A-Level standard (level 3) alongside a profile of longstanding relevant experience. Applications with a previous degree will be considered on an individual basis.
Please note if your application is deemed unsuccessful subsequent applications submitted within the same UCAS cycle will not be considered.
- A Level: 120 UCAS points at A2 including one Science: Biology/Human Biology, Psychology, Sociology & PE are acceptable (General Studies not included)
- BTEC Extended Diploma: DDM in Health and Social Care, Health Sciences or Health Studies pathway (Level 3)
- BTEC Diploma: D* D* in Health and social care
- Pass Access Course: 120 UCAS points including 30 level 3 credits at Distinction
- International Baccalaureate Diploma: Pass including 120 points from Higher Level Subjects
- T Level Health: M
- IELTS: 7.0 with no Component lower than 6.5
- GCSEs: 5 at grade C/4 including Maths, English, Science/Health & Social Care
This course will involve you working with vulnerable groups of individuals, this may include children. In order to ensure that the University offers places on their programmes to suitable candidates you will be required to obtain a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance (formerly termed CRB).

Information for employers
An apprentice is employed to do a real job while studying for a formal qualification, usually for one day a week at one of our campuses or training centres.
This course meets Apprenticeship Standards and your apprentice will have the knowledge and skills to succeed in their chosen career or progress to the next apprenticeship level.
