Preston railway station is only a 10-minute walk from our campus. The Bus Station offers local and national bus and coach services. So getting around Preston couldn’t be easier.
If you’re looking for the big city experience, Manchester and Liverpool are within easy reach. Both are jam-packed with arts, culture, shopping and nightlife. You’ll find history and culture in Lancaster with castles and art galleries. It is also known for its incredible architecture and tales of witches – all less than an hour away by train.
For outdoor pursuits, there’s no better setting than England’s largest National Park, the Lake District. Here you’ll find some of the most stunning sights in the country with beautiful villages and peaks. It’s a fantastic destination for walking, cycling, sailing and more. Or indulge yourself with an afternoon tea in one of the Lake District’s cosy cafes.
If you like the seaside, spend a day in Blackpool, Lancashire’s answer to Las Vegas. Eat fish and chips on the promenade or ride the big dipper at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
If you wanted to explore a bit further afield, you're only a short drive away from the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The Yorkshire Dales is an area of outstanding natural beauty, close enough for a day trip or a weekend away.
There’s more than enough across the North West to keep you busy. Yet our transport links make it easy to venture further afield too. London, Edinburgh or Glasgow are all within two and a half hours from Preston railway station. Preston Coach Station also runs bus and coach services to destinations across the UK.
