We believe unlocking the full potential of the future requires a culture of curiosity and hands-on exploration. This approach will inspire a new generation of graduates, entrepreneurs, and innovators.
Our courses in air and space
We aim to break down barriers and provide accessible pathways for individuals. This will allow them to engage in education and careers in aerospace, space, and digital technologies.Student case studies

Our students had the exciting opportunity to lead the development of rockets for the Mid-Powered National Rocketry Championships. They also participated in the MACH-24 High-Powered International Rocket/CanSat launch competition at a future spaceport in Argyll, Scotland.

Each year, our students take the lead in tackling the annual IMECHE Design Challenge. Here they confront a “real-world” engineering problem. They design, build, present, and operate a device that meets strict technical specifications.
Business case studies

We partnered with Airrie Unmanned Aircraft Services, a dynamic startup. Together, we helped them secure a highly competitive tender from the Ministry of Defence (MOD) to develop and test-fly their aircraft. This was an impressive feat against much larger and more experienced competitors.

Since 2022, the University and IR Kinetics LTD have teamed up to create and prototype an innovative system of infrared beacons for vehicle tracking. This cutting-edge project involves detecting these beacons in real-time using drones equipped with cameras that can pick up emitted infrared (IR) light.

Forsberg Services LTD is at the forefront of GNSS antenna design, delivering solutions that prioritise resilience and anti-jamming capabilities for a wide range of applications, from civil to defence sectors. In an exciting collaboration with the University, they tested a state-of-the-art jamming detector mounted on a drone. The goal was to explore new possibilities and expand its deployment.
Research case studies

We are at the forefront of innovation in agricultural technology, harnessing the power of drones to transform modern farming. Our cutting-edge research and development in precision agriculture allow farmers to optimise crop health. This approach increases yields and reduces environmental impact.

For nearly a decade, our team has been pioneering the use of drones to make the demining process safer, more efficient, and more thorough. We have hands-on experience from landmine test sites in Europe and Southeast Asia, and strong collaborations with leading charitable organisations.
