Dr Viktoriia Yerokhina
Viktoriia is a dedicated and proactive lecturer and researcher with ten years of experience in morphological disciplines (histology, anatomy, cytology and embryology) with various groups of multinational students. She is passionate about planning and delivering engaging classes that resonate with students. She also applies innovative teaching techniques to generate interest and enthusiasm among students.
Viktoriia is a committed faculty member who is passionate about working to enhance an institution's educational offerings further. Her basic duties include teaching of anatomy, histology and embryology, tutorial guidance, research, examining of scores, curriculum development as well as coordination of PDP delivery. She is a Module Lead of Anatomy and Physiology. Viktoriia is engaged in professional activities related to the discipline through networking at conferences and open lectures. She has been deeply involved in scientific work throughout her career. The scope of her interest is mainly associated with immunology and endocrinology as well as modern teaching methods and approaches, such as gamification, problem-based learning, flipped lectures, inclusive learning.
Viktoriia graduated from Lugansk State Medical University (Ukraine) in 2012. After graduating from university, she remained there as a postgraduate student. In 2014, she was forced to move to Kharkiv due to the outbreak of hostilities in the eastern part of Ukraine. Since then, she has been working at the Kharkiv National Medical University (Ukraine), firstly as an Assistant Professor (2014-2018), then as an Associate Professor (2018-2022). In 2016, she defended her PhD thesis on the “Morphological peculiarities of the rat’s parathyroid glands at immunosuppression and immunostimulation in an experiment”. In 2019, she obtained a degree as an Associate Professor of Histology, Cytology and Embryology.
She has been teaching histology, cytology and embryology disciplines to first and second year English-medium students at the Kharkiv National Medical University, Ukraine for 8 years. In September 2022, she was honoured to join our School of Medicine and Dentistry as a lecturer in Medical Sciences. She will be teaching a variety of disciplines, including anatomy, histology, embryology, cell biology.
