Vicky Thomas
Vicky teaches a variety of topics across both of our occupational therapy programmes. She has previous experience as a specialist occupational therapist in Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation. This provides valuable teaching experiences and practical examples delivered through occupational therapy lectures.
Vicky teaches in both of our BSc and MSc Occupational Therapy programmes. She is a module lead, and also teaches sessions within other modules. She works on the placement team and provides support as a visiting tutor to our students on their practical placements. She also provides pastoral support as a year tutor and personal tutor.
Vicky worked for 9 years in a Spinal Cord Injuries Rehabilitation setting. She progressed from a Band 5 to a Band 6 therapist at that time. Vicky also has experience as a qualified nurse working within paediatrics. Vicky moved into academia here last year. She has always had an interest in teaching. She provided valuable teaching support as a clinical educator to a variety of students within her clinical setting. She is currently working on her research project as part of her MSc in Advanced Occupational Therapy.
