Tracey Kearns
Tracey is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery working in the Mental Health division. Tracey facilitates learning across a number of modules for the BSc and MSc Pre-Registration Nursing Degree and also supervisors postgraduates students on the MSc Pre-Registration programme.
Tracey is the Course Leader for the Nurse Degree Apprenticeship programme. Tracey was previously the Year 2 lead for the Mental Health Nursing field.
Prior to her current role Tracey worked for the NHS in Lancashire for 11 years. Her most recent role was A Specialised Practitioner for Psychosis working with individuals and their families with Severe and Enduring Mental Health Illnesses. She has also worked as a Care Coordinator and the dedicated duty officer for a Complex Care & Treatment Team. Tracey has mentored students from UCLan whilst on clinical placements and she has also gained experience in lecturing working as a Lecturer-Practitioner for 12 months on a part-time Secondment at UCLan. She has also worked in in-patient settings with adults and experience before qualifying as a Registered Mental Health Nurse with older adults.
Tracey has completed additional CPD studies including Brief Solution Focused Therapy and Mentorship and has been successful in achieving her Post Graduate Certificate in Education.
Tracey is the Course Leader for the Nurse Degree Apprenticeship programme and has establish effective working relationships with Practice Partners. Tracey has co-authored a Chapter in Psychosocial Assessment in Mental Health edited by Steve Trenoweth and Nicki Moore.
