Dr Tomasz Janicki
Tom teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students. He is the Course Leader for our part-time MSc Prosthodontics programme. He has been a clinical academic since the completion of his PhD programme on air-abrasion and biomaterials. Tom completed his specialist training in Prosthodontics in London and became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh afterwards.
Tom joined us as Senior Clinical Lecturer in Restorative dentistry and Honorary Consultant in Prosthodontics in January 2023. He works on developments in teaching and research in contemporary restorative dentistry as well as treating patients referred by local dentists.
Tom has a broad experience in academic teaching. This is mainly in Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics. He was awarded a Fellowship of Advanced Higher Education for his academic teaching. He supervised postgraduate research projects in the field of bonding, air-abrasion and dentures. Tom was a research assistant, a co-investigator and a principal investigator in research projects conducted at Queen Mary University of London. His Academic Clinical Fellowship project was on adhesive resin cements, and it was funded by NIHR.
