Simon Dykes
With a history of working as a paramedic and paramedic tutor with the North West Ambulance Service, Simon now fulfils the role of Senior Lecturer in pre-hospital care within the School of Health, Social Work and Sport. Simon’s main responsibilities lie with the provision of undergraduate paramedic education and maintains professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council. Simon is a Teaching Fellow with Advance HE, formally known as the Higher Education Academy.
Simon is heavily involved in the delivery, leadership and curriculum development of the undergraduate BSc (Hons) paramedic science programme delivered at the University of Central Lancashire.
Previously, Simon was a paramedic and a paramedic tutor with North West Ambulance Service before joining the University of Central Lancashire. Simon has experience of course leadership and curriculum development and works collaboratively across the School of Health, Social Work and Sport and with various key stakeholders. In addition to the role at University, Simon has also completed external roles as an educational visitor for the Health and Care Professions Council and an external examiner and advisor for other universities within England.
