Nicole McLachlan
Nicole is a Senior Lecturer here. She qualified as Dental Therapist in 2012 with distinction and was awarded the “Best Overall Clinical Performance” prize at her graduation. She teaches across all the undergraduate programmes within the school. Nicole also supervises students on the BSc Dental Studies programme with their Dissertation module and is year 1 lead for the BSc Dental Therapy programme.
Previously Nicole was a clinical supervisor for the school and was based at Morecambe DEC. She has over 16 years of experience in Dentistry, undertaking various roles within the dental team, in both NHS and private settings giving her a wealth of experience.
Nicole is module lead for a variety of modules such as professionalism and clinical skills, that are taught to all of the undergraduate students within the school via integrated learning.
Being involved in primary research around direct access, Nicole is keen to promote Dental Therapists as being an invaluable part of the dental team.
Nicole is passionate about Dentistry and thrives to help future dental care professionals flourish in their chosen vocation! She continues to keep up to date with current literature and techniques to ensure the best possible teaching is being delivered. Nicole is hoping to undertake more learning herself in the near future.
