Nicholas Passenger
Nicholas has led a number of academic teams and courses whilst being at UCLan and is currently Academic Team Leader for Business and Marketing. With particular expertise in creating international partnerships, Nicholas has been fortunate to create links with as number of universities and currently looks over one of the biggest partnerships at Hunan Normal University in China.
Nicholas has taught across a number of subjects with recent input being in the Business and Marketing programmes. His current teaching is aligned very much to the Marketing strand. Nicholas is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has been nominated for various teaching awards whilst at UCLan.
Nicholas has created a number of links both nationally and internationally and is currently undertaking research on comparing the different leadership approaches at two campuses that the university is involved with. Nicholas has delivered an an international conference with North Carolina State University and co-written a chapter on Legacies and Events, with a focus being on the Rugby World Cup in 2015.
Nicholas is currently the Academic Team Leader for Business and Marketing, having previously undertaken a similar leadership role for a number of years in another department within the university. Having been a school teacher prior to his joining of UCLan, Nicholas has an expertise in the pedagogical development within programmes. Nicholas has been a part of the University Review Panel for many years and through this looks of the quality and provision of student experience amongst various courses. Nicholas is an external examiner at a number of other universities and is currently also school governor at a local secondary school. On a personal level, Nicholas is strongly committed to the value of education giving students an opportunity to develop their academic and holistic skills and promotes regularly the university's values.

Nicholas has undertaken research in a variety of areas and has written a recent collaborative chapter on Legacy Events. Nicholas is currently undertaking a doctoral thesis in management styles between two different campuses, with noticeable focus being on the leadership styles of managers.
