Manny Crooks

Manny focuses on the safety and sustainability of the voice. She engages with the most up to date scientific research in order to deliver the highest level of vocal training. Manny has many years experience as a musical theatre performer, voice over artist and accent and dialect coach working all over the UK and in the West End.

Manny is a proud graduate from the University of Central Lancashire (BA (Hons) Performing Arts), then went on to gain one of only 15 places available to train professionally at the Guildford School of Acting, graduating with a postgraduate qualification in Musical Theatre. Manny lived and worked professionally in London from creating roles in new musicals to providing voice-overs for CITV, WWF and other various podcasts. Manny has worked in many regional and West End theatres as an accent and dialect coach for a number of years. Alongside which she has been learning, further training and developing with the support of some of the UK's best mentors in order to train young singers to the best possible standard for a sustainable career. The science behind the workings of the voice empower the singer to know 'how' they are producing sound by a greater understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the neck and head, larynx tongue, breath system etc. Manny is also passionate about improving mental health in the workplace therefore in 2017 Manny co-founded and is musical director of the UCLan Staff choir which is all about the positive benefits of singing together. This is an inclusive choir to any University of Central Lancashire Staff member and has been an absolute career highlight.

Manny is also a qualified Wellbeing Coach and has her own podcast which she launched in April 2022. Wellbeing with Manny in conversation with… talks to everyday people about how they have journeyed through life so far. We hear positive stories that people can relate to; making you feel seen, valued, less alone and even inspired.
