Leona Nicholas
Leona is a lecturer on BA interior design and MA design courses. She actively collaborates with industry and student engagement on live projects. Leona also works along side an international partner university in China.
Leona has over 20 years experience in the commercial design industry working in many disciplines including commercial interior design, manufacturing and business development to a global clientele. She joined the Interior Design team in 2018 and currently lectures to undergraduate and postgraduate students, encouraging future thinking design solutions, cross disciplinary interactions and industry collaborations. Leona's research interests revolve around people-centric interior space design and how lighting affects human psychology especially for people who have a predominantly indoor lifestyle, exploring the regulation of cycadean cycles and lighting solutions with a focus on sleep disorders, depression, and productivity. She is currently expanding this research by undertaking her PhD.
