Laura Walker
Laura teaches across a range of modules on our BA TESOL programme, and on the About Language MA TESOL programme. She is passionate about supporting sanctuary seekers into higher education. She works with internal and external organisations in support of this.
Laura has worked here since 2014. She has taught a number of courses and programmes since then. She currently trains teachers of English to speakers of other languages on the BA programme and is one of the tutors on our About Language MA TESOL module. She is also a current postgraduate research student at UCLan, investigating highly skilled sanctuary seekers’ professional identity development in higher education and work-based contexts.
Before joining us, Laura worked as an English language teacher and English for Academic Purposes tutor at other higher education institutions and at language schools in the UK. She has also worked teaching General and Business English abroad in Russia, Austria, Italy and The Czech Republic.
