Kate Ball
Kate shares her experience and passion for design with the next generation of creatives and has lectured at UCLan since 2007. Having recently completed a master’s degrees in education, Kate’s research interests are currently centred around the student experience with a focus on development of resilience.
Kate teaches within BA Fashion Design and is first year lead; she is also MA Fashion Design course leader. Kates specialises in Fashion design, illustration, and cad.
Kate has over 10 years’ experience as a working designer having initially owned her own brand and then designed freelance for many high street stores including Monsoon, Marks and Spencer and Ted Baker.

After noting students where less able to manage their time and workload, Kate development of a model for resilience which she presentedat the HEA conference 2011. To develop the model further Kate completed the Masters in Education and Professional Practise, working with a group of first year fashion design learners.
