Dr Joshua Lauder
Dr Joshua Lauder is a Consultant Radiologist with over 10 years of experience in diagnostic and therapeutic radiology. He has a strong interest in medical education, acting as Lead Radiologist and Senior Clinical Lecturer here. He also has a research interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI), being the lead investigator for research into AI interpretation of foot x-rays in collaboration with The University of Manchester, where he is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer. He is the lead radiologist for Head and Neck Cancer Service at ELHT. He also runs local Specialist Musculoskeletal MDTs including Rheumatology, Upper limb and Lower limb. He has presented at National and International Radiology and Medical Education conferences.
Dr Lauder is responsible for the radiology curriculum at UCLan, for the medical, physicians' associate and dental schools. He lectures on all campuses, teaching x-ray, CT, MRI and ultrasound. He is also responsible for radiology software procurement.
He has authored 9 chapters in ABC of major trauma: rescue, resuscitation with imaging, and rehabilitation, 5th edition Peter A. Driscoll (editor), David V. Skinner (editor), Peter N. Goode (editor). He also has a publication contract with Wiley to develop a new textbook ‘Clinical Anatomy and Imaging in Emergency and Urgent Care’ Book publications - the provisional publication date is 2024.
Dr Joshua Lauder graduated in medicine from the University of Manchester in 2012 (MBChB). He completed Foundation training in Manchester, before Teaching Anatomy at The University of Manchester from 2014-2015. He commenced Radiology training in the Northwest, obtaining FRCR from The Royal College of Radiologists in 2018. He has been a Consultant Radiologist for East Lancashire Hospital NHS Trust since 2020 and Lead Radiologist/Senior Clinical Lecturer here since 2020.

Dr Joshua Lauder has led a research project in artificial intelligence interpretation of foot x-rays, which has become the basis of a new PhD program at The University of Manchester. He is the first author of a review article on Imaging of ulnar-sided wrist pain for The British Journal of Hospital Medicine.
