Josh Taylor
Josh has over ten years’ experience in the Games Industry working mainly as a Lead Art/Art Director and has experience in concept art, 2D art, modelling, animation and user interface design. He was most notably the Lead Artist on ‘Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone’. He maintains industry contacts which help to secure placements and live briefs for the students on both the BA and MA Games Design Courses.
Josh is the Course Leader for MA Games Design and the e-MA Games design at UCLan. He is part of the supervisory team delivering the Doctorate program within Media. Josh is the Liaison Tutor for several courses at Futureworks, Manchester; BA Games Design, BA Game Art, BA Animation with Illustration, BA Visual Effects, BA Post Production, BA Indipendant Film Making. He is involved with Virtual Reality as part of the Global Sound Movement to preserve and experience rare and endangered instruments.
Josh completed a Masters Degree in Industrial at Manchester Metropolitan University and immediately entered the Video Games Industry. He has worked on many titles in his career some of which include; Battlestar Galactica Magic and Mayhem; The Art of Magic The Quivering Machines Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone He worked mainly as a Lead Artist/Art Director and moved into Academia to teach Games Art and Design in 2004.
