Jane is module lead on the Scientific Communication, English for the Medical Sciences, and English for Academic and Professional Development modules. She has presented widely on her research areas of second language listening and psycholinguistics and continues to be involved with authors and students in these fields.
For 20 years, Jane has taught and managed courses in English language, academic skills, research skills and communication skills. She has worked in various institutions in several countries, as well as universities in the UK. She has trained English teachers from overseas in her specialist areas of psycholinguistics, second language listening and pronunciation skills, the educational philosophy surrounding critical pedagogy, and critical discourse analysis. Jane is committed to research-based pedagogical approaches and enjoys working with students faced with the challenge of studying in a new culture. She is dedicated to providing students with the best possible learning experiences and is particularly interested in working with mature students new to, or returning to study.
