Gary lectures across all three years of the BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy programme, module leading on a number of specialist subjects. Whilst emphasis is placed upon academic performance and sharing of knowledge, Gary is also involved in the holistic support to students as a personal tutor, offering both academic and pastoral support.
Upon obtaining his First Class (Hons) undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy, Gary went on to work within the NHS in East Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust whilst simultaneously working within Blackburn Rovers FC’s Academy. He then progressed into a full-time role within professional football working with Burnley FC’s Academy as Senior Academy Physiotherapist. Following numerous years within this position, honing skills within clinical areas such as assessment, screening, rehabilitation and load management of athletes, Gary’s career progressed to Peterborough United FC where he held the position of Head of Medicine overseeing medical provision for the first team squad in the EFL.
