Eddie Baldwin
Eddie is the Course Leader for the Police Constable Entry Route courses delivered in partnership with Lancashire Constabulary. He works across both the degree apprenticeship and degree holder entry routes. Eddie is a former police officer having served across a variety of roles over 26 years with Lancashire Constabulary. During his service, he specialised in response and community policing alongside holding numerous professional specialisms such as counter terrorist search and disaster victim recovery.
Eddie joined the university in November 2021 working alongside colleagues delivering both Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship and both Response and Detective Degree Holder Entry Programme courses in Lancashire before becoming the Course Leader in December 2022.
During his policing career, Eddie worked predominantly in frontline roles such as uniformed response, neighbourhood policing, and the operational support unit. This involved policing major incident and working on several large police operations nationally. Additionally, Eddie undertook an overseas policing role working with the Iraqi Police Service.
After moving into Police Training, Eddie worked collaboratively with the university to develop the PEQF programmes. He has interests in response policing, decision making, police culture and police interactions with people living with dementia.
Eddie is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
