Dr Mike Eslea
Mike mostly teaches Social & Developmental Psychology, plus Research Methods and Ethics.
Mike is Course Leader for BSc (Hons) Psychology of Child Development and is the School Assessment Officer. He is also Assistant Secretary of the UCLan branch of UCU, the academic staff union.
Mike's research is mostly in the area of school bullying and children's aggression. He has published widely on the subject, as well as supervising and examining many PhD students. He is currently a member of the Cheshire Anti-Bullying Commission. As well as bullying, Mike is interested in placebo effects and alternative medicine. He often appears in the media debunking bogus therapies such as homeopathy, acupuncture and chiropractic.
