Dr Bateman teaches phase II medical students at our Westlakes Campus and is a full-time GP with several specific interests. In addition, she also teaches other healthcare professionals, and has been involved in primary care service development and cross-organisational working.
Dr Bateman is a tutor and Westlakes module lead for Health & Society, which focuses on disability and vulnerability in society and how this impacts health and wellbeing. The module introduces the role of social prescribing, which is becoming an important tool in patient management in the UK.
Dr Bateman organises and leads a local "first 5" group for newly qualified GPs.
