Charlie Dewhurst
Charlie joined the Sports Therapy staff team here full time in February 2020 moving from the University of Cumbria.
Charlie lectures across all three years of the BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy programme, including module leading on several specialist subjects and bring across her experience from working in the field. She is also involved in holistic support to students as a year lead and personal tutor, offering both academic and pastoral support.
Charlie graduated with a first class (Hons) undergraduate degree in Sports Therapy and went on to complete her MRes in Sports Therapy with a research title of: ‘The Reliability of Lower Limb Screening Tests and Their Correlation with GPS Loading Data from Prescribed Physical Activity in Professional Academy Football Players’. Since then, she worked in professional academy football and semi-professional first team football as well as private practice; developing skills within areas such as assessment, screening, rehabilitation, soft tissue treatment and load management of athletes. Charlie began teaching and continues to work clinically as a Sports Therapist outside of her full-time post lecturing.
