Caitlynn Hudlow
Caitlynn teaches anatomical sciences across several programmes. She graduated with a Master of Science in Modern Human Anatomy from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in spring 2023, where she also earned a teaching certificate in anatomical sciences education. Caitlynn's research focuses on virtual anatomical modelling, aiming to enhance accessibility and understanding in anatomical education.
In her role here, Caitlynn delivers comprehensive anatomy content to both medical and dental students. She incorporates virtual models into her teaching and enhances the learning experience by connecting anatomical concepts to real medical contexts students may encounter in clinical practice. This approach not only fosters a deeper understanding of anatomy, but it also prepares students for practical applications in their future careers.
She is also passionate about developing anatomy outreach events designed to engage students and the general public, aiming to raise awareness and interest in anatomical sciences. Through these initiatives, she seeks to promote a greater appreciation for anatomy.
In her research, Caitlynn focuses on virtual anatomical modelling, aiming to enhance accessibility and understanding in anatomical education. This work is crucial for creating inclusive educational resources catering to diverse learners and their backgrounds.
Caitlynn graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Movement Science from the University of Michigan in spring 2019. During her studies, she held multiple teaching assistant positions within the University of Michigan Medical School, where she taught animal dissection to high school students and developed cadaver-centered anatomy content for undergraduate and medical students. Additionally, her role as a Rehabilitation Technician at a physical therapy clinic during this time provided her with valuable insights into the importance of connecting anatomy to clinical contexts, which has significantly shaped her teaching philosophy.
Caitlynn continued her academic journey at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, where she earned a Master of Science in Modern Human Anatomy and a teaching certificate in anatomical sciences education in spring 2023. As a graduate student, her research focused on 3D anatomical modelling and enhancing inclusivity in medical education, which she had the privilege of presenting at multiple conferences. Furthermore, she took on the role of course lead for a summer program which taught high school students from underrepresented backgrounds how to interpret radiological imaging and create 3D patient-specific anatomical models. Afterwards, she arrived here in autumn 2023.
