Adrienne Yarwood
Adrienne teaches across a range of quantity surveying modules within the construction team. This is with particular reference to the practitioner role of a Quantity Surveyor, including construction quantification, cost planning and construction contracts.
Adrienne is the course leader for our BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying and is a Chartered Surveyor. As a previous practitioner, Adrienne is particularly interested in the progression of students into the workplace and ultimately to Chartered Surveyors.
Adrienne has a BSc in Quantity Surveying and a MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Adrienne has worked for a number of Tier 1 contractors undertaking her training as a part time student. She has since run commercial departments in both the housing sector, commercial developers and private practice. Working on both construction and civil engineering projects, Adrienne has also been part of the dispute resolution team on a number of power generation projects. She has held numerous positions for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors including a member of Governing Council, Regional Board and Chair of the local professional group. She acts as an assessor and chair of the RICS final assessment panels in addition to auditing and being an appeal panel member. Adrienne also undertakes academic accreditations of other institutions on behalf of the RICS.
