Disability support for apprentices

We are committed to supporting apprentices with disabilities and support needs. This includes advice, support and adjustments to help you achieve your full potential.

Supporting your success

Identifying your needs will help us to support your success in all areas of your apprenticeship. Evidence shows that apprentices who disclose a disability or learning support need have better academic outcomes than those who do not.

Read a brief guide to our support process below. More information can be found in our student disability policy. You can also view our student support privacy notice.

Reasonable adjustments at work

Employers are required to make reasonable adjustments in the workplace. You may be eligible for Access to Work, which offers support in your work environment. This may include grants to pay for practical support in your work. Employers may also have access to other sources of assistance

Monthly support reviews

If you have made a disclosure, you will be invited to a review meeting every month. This will give us the chance to make sure that adjustments and support are still meeting your needs.

If your support needs change, these will be shared with those involved in the delivery of your learning.
