Our Midwifery BSc (Hons) course includes placements to give you hands-on experience in real healthcare settings. These placements allow you to apply what you learn in the classroom to practice, helping you to understand patient care and clinical procedures. As you work with experienced midwives, you will develop skills, build confidence, and prepare for the challenges of a midwifery career. This practical experience ensures you are ready to provide high-quality care when you graduate.
During your placements, you'll build solid relationships with healthcare providers across central Lancashire. This includes NHS trusts in Preston, Blackburn, Burnley and Fylde coast.
How our placements work
Placement locations are organised into circuits, which are determined by the course you're enrolled in and the campus you attend. During the interview process, you will indicate your first and second preferences for placements. We'll make every effort to accommodate these preferences. However, it may not always be possible to get your first or second choice.
