Job summary

This apprenticeship will provide the candidate with the opportunity to train to become a building services engineer. This will enable the candidate to design building services within buildings and make them come to life.

At the end of the apprenticeship the candidate will be a significant way along their chosen career path.

Full job description

Your training and education will enable you to design mechanical and electrical building services and to carry out dynamic modelling of buildings and their contained building services.You will be able to make informed engineering decisions and enable our clients to have faith and confidence in your abilities as a designer. The candidate will carry out the following as part of their apprenticeship:

  • Create Dynamic Simulation Models of building services systems
  • Design mechanical services
  • Size plant
  • Design electrical services
  • Provide detailed design calculations
  • Attend client meetings
  • Carry out surveys and condition reports
  • Provide technical support to the engineering team already in place

As they progress they will enhance the training of other apprentices and more junior members of staff. Develop the ability to operate in an engineering technical team.

BEng (Hons)
Learn how to design, install and maintain the services that allow a building to do what it’s designed to do. Our Building Services and Sustainable Engineering, BEng (Hons) Degree Apprenticeship looks at the comfort and safety of people inside buildings whilst also tackling the priority issues associated with energy use and its conservation.

Considerations

As a small company, it is imperative that the candidate has the ability and the will to succeed and to support other members of the team. The candidate will have to get involved in things which they may not expect to when working for a large company.

The most important aspect is a candidate's attitude and willingness to succeed and hit deadlines.

Working Pattern:

Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm with 1/2 hour lunch

SPARK event

An interview will be offered to successful applicants at the SPARK event. This event will be held on our Preston Campus on 27th March 2025. You must be registered for this event, with an approved application and be available to attend on this day. Click here for further details SPARK March 2025
