As an Apprentice Building Services Design Engineer, you will embark on a structured training programme to develop your technical and practical skills in building services engineering. You will work alongside experienced engineers and contribute to the design, installation, and maintenance of critical systems.

Full job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and planning of building services systems.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on the development of sustainable and energy-efficient building solutions.
  • Use industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) to create detailed engineering drawings and models.
  • Participate in site visits to support installation and commissioning activities.
  • Perform calculations for system sizing, energy efficiency, and performance optimisation.
  • Support project teams with documentation, reports, and client communications.
  • Attend university as part of the apprenticeship programme.
  • Maintain a proactive attitude towards learning and development to build your technical expertise.

Learn how to design, install and maintain the services that allow a building to do what it’s designed to do. Our Building Services and Sustainable Engineering, BEng (Hons) Degree Apprenticeship looks at the comfort and safety of people inside buildings whilst also tackling the priority issues associated with energy use and its conservation.

Working Pattern:

Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
