Hanane’s journey to becoming a performance mindset coach

Hanane attended the University’s summer taster sessions to explore courses and discovered her passion for teaching languages before using the skills she gained to start her own coaching business

Hanane always knew she wanted to study at the University of Central Lancashire, though she was initially undecided about her course. To explore her options she attended the University’s summer taster sessions which gave her insight to our courses. One such session, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) piqued her interest unexpectedly. Encouraged by a friend, Hanane joined the session out of curiosity and immediately fell in love with the subject.

In addition to TESOL, Hanane’s interest in Criminology led her to pursue a Combined Honours degree. “I chose Criminology out of my curiosity about how I could contribute to making the world a better place,” she said.

After graduating, Hanane moved to Madrid, Spain, where she taught English for two years. Upon returning to the UK she embarked on a career in tech but soon pivoted to Learning and Development. This transition marked the beginning of a dynamic career journey.

However, Hanane’s career path wasn’t without challenges. After facing two redundancies she felt stuck and sought guidance from professional coaches. This experience sparked a new interest in coaching. She said: “The whole experience piqued my interest in coaching. I set out on a mission to find a company where I could incorporate coaching into my role,”

Hanane soon found a position as an in-house coach after completing the EMCC Foundation coaching course. In this role, Hanane managed the Learning and Development programs for over 300 employees. It was during this time that her coach suggested she consider starting her own business. Inspired by this conversation, Hanane combined her teaching experience and Learning and Development expertise to launch her own coaching business in 2021.

Hanane is a now successful Performance Mindset Coach, specialising in helping high-achieving women unlock their strengths, lead with confidence, and achieve their full potential. Through one to one coaching, training, and workshops, Hanane empowers her clients to succeed both personally and professionally.

Reflecting on her journey, Hanane said: “Getting into coaching and training has been incredibly rewarding, especially when I see the people I help succeed.”

Hanane’s accomplishments include guest appearances on podcasts, radio shows, and even the Islamic Channel’s morning TV show, where she discussed her career and leadership coaching expertise.

Hanane credits her time at the University of Central Lancashire for equipping her with essential skills from coaching to designing effective training sessions for her clients. She advises prospective students interested in coaching to seek mentorship. She said: “Speak to someone who has walked the path. When I was looking to get into coaching, I had a chat with a coach and asked them about all the pros and cons. I recommend this approach for any field you’re interested in.”
