The security is really good in every hall of residence here. Security are on call anytime you want if there's a problem.

Surrounded by beautiful countryside, Summergrove Hall is located a couple of miles from the Cumbrian coast. Living at Summergrove, you'll have easy access to the Lake District National Park, perfect for evening walks and weekend trips.

Get your meals included with our new catered package and save time and money on cooking and shopping.

For an extra £75 per week you’ll get tasty, nutritious meals in our on-site restaurant. This provides an affordable way to ensure you get breakfast during the week, brunch at weekends and an evening meal seven days a week.

Our catering service at Summergrove meets various needs. There are halal, vegetarian and vegan choices every day. Other dietary requirements may be available, please email the Summergrove Catering Team.

All Catering Services staff are trained to industry standards. They are able to provide information on the range offered. They also know all the ingredients of dishes and advice about allergens and dietary requirements. The products and services provided are carefully selected.

Our menus feature a variety of healthy and sustainable food options. This includes daily vegetarian and vegan choices. The menu is regularly changed to promote sustainability. We want to encourage you to explore plant-based options.

If you select the catered package you also have access to a small, shared kitchenette. You can use this for snacks and simple lunches. The kitchenette includes includes fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster and cupboard space. Plates, pans, crockery and cutlery are also provided.

Meal selection will be similar to the sample menus that you will find below. These will be varied with seasonal produce and themes.

See the sample menus for three weeks below. One main, one vegetarian meal and one vegan/plant based meal will be available every day. This is accompanied by a selection of carbohydrates and vegetables.

Once a week, the kitchen will serve special dishes. These are created by our Catering Team who will showcase their use of culinary skills.

What's in our halls

Inside Summergrove Hall, you'll find a communal lounge equipped with table football, table tennis and board games. It's the perfect escape after a day of lectures and seminars.

Each catered bedroom has access to a kitchenette. Each self-catering bedroom has access to a bright and modern shared kitchen. All bedrooms at Summergrove Hall are en-suite and have access to a shared lounge area.

Summergrove Hall has its own launderette.

This hall is regulated by the UUK Code of Practice.

Summergrove Hall has recently been purchased by the University, so some of the information here may change.
